“We just wanted to say such a huge thank you to you both for our incredible wedding photos. We absolutely love them and can’t stop looking at them and showing them to our friends and family. You have captured the fun, laughter and love of the day absolutely beautifully and I know we will treasure them forever!”
Oh how I love a marquee wedding in a field! Lucy and Rob put up a big old pole tent in a beautiful meadow near Amersham in Buckinghamshire, decorated it with homegrown flowers, put some fun games on the lawn, and off we all went, aboard the party train. Note to self: forget coffee after dinner, every wedding needs a cocktail hour! Also worth noting is that Lucy wrote every single piece of stationary herself including a personal note for every guest and had to actually teach herself calligraphy to do it. Talk about dedication!
I photographed this wedding together with my husband and we both agreed that we had never experienced people getting into lawn games quite as much. Those poor ‘bride and groom’ coconuts got decapitated with gusto more than once and rounders proved a particular hit with the punters…as did the open-air bar and the Serrano ham carver, who fed us all the most delicious Spanish cured meats.
Rob, Lucy and their friends definitely know how to party and so the afternoon continued with hilarious speeches, really tasty food, and finally a cocktail hour that got everyone fuelled for a night of wild dancing. There’s nothing more fun than bouncing around on a rammed dance floor to the tunes of an amazing live band and to take photos of people throwing shapes like there’s no tomorrow.
And the moral of the story: Make your wedding what YOU want it to be! With their marquee wedding in a field Lucy and Rob did exactly that and it was awesome!
