“Anne, we absolutely love our photos so so much. They are more than we could have ever wished for, honestly! Thank you for being such a key part of our wedding day – it was such a pleasure having you there – not just taking the most beautiful photos but being such great company making everyone and us feel so relaxed in front of the camera. Thank you from us both once again for capturing those special moments!”
After a year of photographing very few weddings (two, to be exact), Jo and Davey’s beautiful wedding at Abbey Hall in Eye, Suffolk was the perfect start into a new season and the fresh start I think we all needed. This was a small wedding but it was mighty in every way. Perfect summer weather, happy people, floral abundance and a beautifully decorated barn. A heartfelt ceremony conducted by the wonderful Ellie Lomas was followed by drinks on the lawn and a delicious Italian feast.
Jo designed the stationary and – this is my favourite little detail – made the confetti cones out of last year’s invitations. Probably the best way to get something useful out of 2020! And as this kind of creativity is obviously passed down through the generations, Jo’s mum made the gorgeous wedding dress and veil. There was a piñata for the kids and heady cocktails for the grown-ups and Jo and Davey danced what was probably the cutest first dance ever (Ah yes, Davey loves to dance in front of an audience. Not.)
Jo and Davey are honestly the nicest, kindest, thoughtful people and I was so honoured to be part of their wedding day. Every time I scroll through these photos it takes me right back to that perfect summer day on the lawn in front of the beautiful Abbey Hall Eye barn. Sigh. (I’m writing this in December, in case you’re wondering).
